David started his culinary journey at the age of four, influenced by his grandmother and her hard work and passion in her own kitchen. By the age of seven David was drying fruits, perfecting the family masa recipe for tamales, pressing fresh flour tortillas, and growing fruits and chilies in backyard gardens.
He continued his growth alongside his mother in a local pub, chopping, dicing and peeling his fair share of potatoes as he stoked the fire within that was his passion for the culinary arts. David paid his dues in corporate kitchens, mastering the sunny side up egg under the tutelage of many old-school chefs.
One in particular forced David to eat all the eggs that weren't perfectly prepared- AFTER his shift! He was very fortunate to be trained by American Culinary Federation Chefs from Marriott Hotel and a very close friend who is a CIA Chef who showed him how to be creative and gave him two years of side by side training in Italian Cuisine.
His early successes resulted in a corporate training position with Marie Callendar's, where he opened numerous locations in Northern California over six years.
In 1995 he furthered his education, studying at the Marriott Waterfront Hotel in Mel Brae California as an Apprentice with the American Culinary Federation. An award-winning pastry chef, David has recently focused on Italian and Mediterranean Cuisine, creating creative dishes that explode with flavor and zest.
He has cooked for some of the biggest stars in Hollywood and pleased everyone with his attention to detail and flavors. One thing that you need to know about Chef David is whether your a big movie star or a passionate foodie, he will always treat you like royalty. Idealchef.com intrigues David, and his creative juices are flowing now more than ever as he approaches his prime.
He has been selected to compete on a new Food Network Show called Chef Hunter and will be filming in NY. The winner will become the Chef De Cuisine of the famous Les Halles French Restaurant Downtown NY.
David Won Chef Hunter of season one episode three, and is now the Chef De Quisine of Les Halles Downtown in the finacial district.
