Chef Gary Lanza's earliest memories of the kitchen are working along side of his father in the family owned restaurant La Vigna in Greenvale, NY. Standing on a milk crate frying calamari.

He knew at a young age that his career path was the culinary arts. He attended the Culinary Institute of America for formal training. He then went back to La Vigna to take over the family business. Gary branched out and opened Meridaian Cafe in Locust Valley, NY and then followed with Gino and Co. with gourmet take-out and catering.

Gary Lanzas philosophy on cooking is starting with the freshest ingredients and keeping things simple. The base is the foundation of all cooking, without it you have nothing.
