Marc Winans is a Chef Instructor and active member of the American Culinary Federation Philadelphia Chapter. His 20 years in the Food Service Industry started at age 16 when he worked in the kitchen of a local assisted living facility. He immediately knew the kitchen was where he wanted to be. He loved the fast paced creative environment. Soon after, he attended the prestigious Johnson and Wales Culinary School where he trained with top chefs and educators to learn his craft. Out of school he worked at the Desmond Hotel and Conference Center where he started at the bottom and worked his way up to Executive Sous Chef. He worked under Certified Executive Chef Tom Macrina. He then opened the Crown Plaza where he was hired as the Executive Sous Chef. Here he headed up the banquet department. Serving thousands of meals for corporate and social events. He then worked with a popular restaurant group with properties in the NY, NJ, PA, and DE as the Executive Chef of the Iron Hill Brewery. Marc is currently a Chef Instructor at the Art Institute of Philadelphia where he teaches Culinary and Baking students the skills he has accrued throughout his career. He continues to further his culinary training through the ACF and receives great pleasure in sharing his knowledge with students of the culinary arts.
