Originally from Newark, Delaware Pacos Tacos and Tequila Executive Chef Jared Cannon credits his Italian heritage for sparking his interest in the culinary field. Large family dinners were a way of life in the Cannon household, and before he could even reach the counter, Jared was learning all he could about the cooking techniques and traditions used by his loved ones.


In 2002, Chef Jared enrolled in the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York and completed an internship with The Ritz-Carlton at Naples Beach. Upon graduation, Cannon moved to Miami, FL to pursue a degree in Hospitality Management at Florida International University. Upon moving to Florida, Jared secured a job with The Ritz-Carlton, South Beach. It was at this venue that he would transition from cook to chef, holding positions in every culinary outlet of the kitchen, including working as the butcher for a year.


His efforts paid off as he was promoted to work alongside Chef Jeffrey McInnis, who appeared on the fifth season of Bravo’s hit show, Top Chef. He traveled with McInnis to New York to present a dinner at the coveted James Beard House in 2010.


Cannon participated in the Food Network Food and Wine Festival held in South Beach every February, and he competed in the Food Network Burger Bash as a recipe winner in 2006 and 2007 for The Ritz-Carlton entry. Chef Jared Cannon’s work has taken him to several national food festivals including Aspen, New Orleans, New York and South Beach. Most recently Chef Jared has traveled to Mexico City to gain more insight into the cuisine and culture.
