Jonathan Mathias graduated with honors from the Culinary Institute of America in 1981 and, ever since, has dedicated himself to the art of cooking. He remains curious about learning new techniques for recipes, staying current in trends for cuisine and preparation. Jonathan was a teaching fellow at the Culinary Institute, where he instructed students in wines and wine selection, dining room management, and table side preparation. Jonathan is an active member of the Fairfield County community. He and his family have lived in the area for many years and a dash of salt often gives back to the community by assisting non-profits in organizing fund raisers and other events where food is served, and, assists food shelters with some of their dietary needs. a dash of salt has gained a reputation for superb, innovative cuisine presented with flair and imagination. Chef Jonathan Mathias is classically trained. He combines the freshness of locally available ingredients and specialty vendors. When planning your event, Jonathan will work with you to create the perfect menu. Whether it is a particularly bold and exotic cuisine from another part of the world or a more delicate and traditional menu, Jonathan can bring to your table unique flavors which will reflect your own personal style and taste.
