My name is Meeshell Block, aka Chef Meeshell.  I recently moved from Los Angeles to Santa Barbara.  I am a talented, vivacious and friendly chef with over 20 years of culinary experience, mostly in private homes, as well as, I have had been blessed with classical training from Wolfgang Puck, Alain and Cordon Bleu, and more.  Early in my career I worked at some of the of the best fine dining restaurants on the west coast (Los Angeles) and abroad in Stockholm, Sweden. I consider myself to be well organized and always carry out my duties in an efficient, professional and diligent manner.  I specialize in Mediterranean, Indian and Asian cuisine and have a knowledge of middle-eastern, Italian, Mexican, and other cuisine as well. I am passionate about high-quality, local produce and meat, and supporting responsible farms. I also teach cooking classes and cater parties. Whether your family is meat-eating, vegetarian, or vegan, I can easily put together delicious and healthy meals keeping in mind your taste, allergies, and general health concerns. I have excellent references and no job is too small or large for me.  I am confidential and I am also quite personable and professional. I can cook any type of cuisine, for even the most dietary restricted diets, always using the most fresh, organic and seasonal foods.  I also specialize in cooking for people with all types of cancer and severe food allergies, including gluten-free, allergen-free, etc.  diets.  Food is my passion and it shows in my skills.  I would be a great asset to any family and home.  I enjoy being around kids too and from my experience they enjoy my food and company.  I also enjoy teaching kids how to cook.  I understand how to make food that is appealing to kids as well as wholesome and nutritious. I am computer literate and very detailed oriented.  I am available for any type of weekly schedule: breakfast, lunch, dinner, part-time, full-time, or any combination thereof. Some examples from past families include: -Breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily -Just dinner a few times a week -An entire week's worth of meals to be frozen ahead of time and reheated I am based out of Santa Barbara and I am willing to travel and/or commute elsewhere.
