Chef Michael "FidRock" Fiddler was born in Brooklyn NY and raised in Sayreville NJ with close ties to his Brooklyn relatives. He was first bitten by the cooking bug when he was seven years old and his father taught him to make one of the family's favorite simple breakfasts, "cheese eggs". Chef Michael has worked in restaurants from the time he was old enough to legally get a job and continued through high school. He then went off to college to study finance but continued cooking for his fraternity brothers throughout his college career. After a six year detour working for one of the world's leading financial firms, he found his way back to the kitchen and enrolled in the Culinary Arts Program at the French Culinary Institute. After graduation he cut his teeth in top New York restaurants like the Russian Tea Room and Judson Grill. He went on to work with five star chefs at such noted luxury hotels as the Ritz Carlton New Orleans, Mandarin Oriental Washington DC, and Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago. These days, Chef Michael's cooking is a combination of influences from all the places he has lived and people who he has cooked with over the years mixed with his own childhood memories, rooted in classic techniques.
