Brown butter or Beurre noisette is just what it sounds like. You heat butter on a skillet until Brown. It's an easy way to take a recipe that relies on butter up a notch. Brown butter is traditionally served with fish, but makes a delicious topping for vegetables.


  • 1/2  Cup(s) Butter

    1. Heat skillet on a medium heat.
    2. Add butter.
    3. Stir constantly.
    4. Once the butter melts it will foam up a bit.
    5. Remove from heat when the butter turns slightly brown and place on a cool surface.


    Use browned butter immediately or store covered in the refrigerator for future use.
