Description

This Pasta e Piselli (Pasta with Peas) recipe is a great classic Italian pasta dish that is light, easy to make and delicious. A great family meal!


Ingredients

  • 1/4  Cup(s) Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1
  • 5  Each Garlic Cloves, thinly sliced
  • 2
  • 1  Cup(s) Onions, diced
  • 3
  • 1  Cup(s) Roma Tomatoes, seeded, diced
  • 4
  • 2  Cup(s) Peas
  • 5
  • 4  Cup(s) Pasta Water
  • 6
  • 2  Cup(s) Chicken Stock
  • 7
  • 1  Pound(s) Ditalini Pasta, cooked al dente
  • 8
  •  To Taste Salt & Pepper
  • 9
  • 6  Each Basil Leaves, chiffonade
  • 10
  •  Pinch Red Pepper Flakes
  • 11

Directions

    1. In a large saute pan, add olive oil on medium high heat
    2. Once oil is hot, add garlic and lightly toast until slightly golden in color
    3. Add a pinch of red pepper flakes then onions
    4. Let onions cook down, stir so garlic doesn't burn
    5. Add tomatoes and cook down for 1 1/2 minutes
    6. Add basil then season with salt and pepper
    7. Add peas, stir to combine
    8. Add chicken stock and pasta water
    9. Cook for about 3 - 4 minutes
    10. Add pasta and toss to combine into sauce
    11. Let pasta cook in sauce for another minute
    12. Plate up and enjoy!
