Description

Watch Chef Phil make one of his special dishes in honor of Father Joseph, a Spicy Penne a la Vodka. Penne a la Vodka is pasta tossed in a pink cream sauce but this one's got a kick!


Ingredients

  • 1  Tea Spoon(s) Butter
  • 1
  • 1/2  Cup(s) Red Onion, chopped
  • 2
  •  Tea Spoon(s) Vodka
  • 3
  • 2  Pinch Red Pepper Flakes
  • 4
  • 1  Cup(s) Tomato Sauce
  • 5
  •  Pinch Salt
  • 6
  •  Pinch Pepper
  • 7
  • 1  Cup(s) Heavy Cream
  • 8
  • 6  Each Fresh Basil Leaves
  • 9
  •  Tea Spoon(s) Parmesan Cheese, grated
  • 10
  • 1/2  Pound(s) Penne Pasta, cooked

Directions

    1. In a frying pan, melt butter on medium heat
    2. Add the chopped onion and let brown
    3. Add vodka, being careful of the flame
    4. Add the red pepper flakes and let simmer then add tomato sauce
    5. Season with a pinch of salt and heavy cream and your sauce will start to turn slightly pink
    6. Add as much or as little basil leaves as you'd like
    7. Add penne and cheese and mix well
