Description

Easy and Delicious Bread Pudding. Use any type of old Bread and make this classic Dessert. Take this recipe and make it your own by adding Chocolate, Bananas, or any thing you like.


Ingredients

  • 4  Quart(s) Bread, cubed
  • 1
  • 4  Each Eggs
  • 2
  • 1/2  Cup(s) Brown Sugar
  • 3
  • 1/2  Cup(s) White Sugar
  • 4
  • ½  Table Spoon(s) Cinnamon
  • 5
  • ½  Table Spoon(s) Lemon Zest
  • 6
  • 2  Tea Spoon(s) Vanilla Extract
  • 7
  • 1  Pinch Nutmeg
  • 8
  • 4  Cup(s) Milk,
  • 9
  • 1  As Needed Pecans, for garnish (optional)
  • 10
  • 2  Table Spoon(s) Whipped Cream
  • 11
  • 3  Table Spoon(s) Butter, to grease pan

Directions

    1. Mix the eggs, milk, cinnamon, lemon zest, both sugars, vanilla and nutmeg until smooth
    2. Pour mixture over the bread and allow to absorb for 25 min
    3. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
    4. Spread butter all over the baking dish
    5. Once the bread has absorbed the custard, pour it into the buttered baking pan and cover it with aluminum foil
    6. Place in water bath and bake for 45 minutes
    7. Check to ensure all custard is cooked and not runny
    8. Let pudding cool and cut your pieces
    9. Serve with pecans and whipped cream
