Description
Candied Sweet Potatoes are one of the best Thanksgiving dishes around! Sweet potatoes caramelized in the oven with brown sugar, butter, lemon juice, cinnamon and nutmeg.

Directions
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees
- Place potatoes on a baking dish and roast in the oven with skin on for 35 minutes
- Remove from oven and let cool to handle
- Cut ends off and peel skin off
- Cut potatoes into thirds lengthwise
- Butter a baking dish and layer bottom with half of the potatoes as flat as possible
- Sprinkle with half of the brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg
- Dollop half of the butter over all of the potatoes then pour half of the lemon juice all over
- Cover with another layer of potatoes and repeat with brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, butter and lemon juice
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake in the oven for 55 - 60 minutes, basting every 20 minutes with the juice from the baking pan
- Remove from oven and baste one last time, the liquid should not be syrupy
- Serve and enjoy!
