Corn Dog Batter

Description
Great batter for hot dogs, sausage or even lobster. Very quick and easy.
Ingredients
- 3 Cup(s) Yellow Corn Meal
- 1 1/2 Cup(s) Flour, All Purpose
- 1 Tea Spoon(s) Baking Soda
- ¾ Tea Spoon(s) Salt
- 1 Table Spoon(s) Sugar
- ¼ Tea Spoon(s) White Pepper
- 4 Each Hot Dogs
- 2 Quart(s) Neutral Oil, for frying
- 1 Each Egg
- 1 1/2 Cup(s) Buttermilk or Whole Milk
- 1 Cup(s) Flour (for dredging)
Directions
- In a mixing bowl, mix all dry ingredients together: cornmeal, flour, baking soda, salt, sugar, white pepper
- In another bowl, whisk together egg with buttermilk
- Combine wet and dry ingredients together
- Skewer hotdog
- Dredge hotdog in flour, shaking off excess
- Coat in corn dog batter
- Slowly place corn dog into hot oil
- Fry in 360 degrees oil for 2 - 3 minutes or until golden brown
