Description

Grated Daikon and Turnips cooked down with honey and cayenne pepper. Great accompaniment for duck and pork. A little Sweet and Spicy.


Ingredients

  • 1/2  Pound(s) Daikon
  • 1
  • 2  Each Turnips, medium
  • 2
  • 1/2  Cup(s) Honey
  • 3
  • 1/2  Cup(s) Water
  • 4
  • 1  Tea Spoon(s) Cayenne Pepper
  • 5
  • 1  To Taste Salt, kosher
  • 6
  • 3  Table Spoon(s) Ginger, fresh grated
  • 7
  • 1  Tea Spoon(s) Rice Wine Vinegar
  • 8
  • 1  To Taste Kosher Salt
  • 9

Directions

    1. Grate the daikon, turnips and ginger into a bowl
    2. Add the honey, water, cayenne and salt
    3. Place in a thick bottom sauce pot and bring to a simmer
    4. simmer until most of the liquid evaporates
    5. Finish with rice wine vinegar and taste to adjust
