Linzer cookies are a classic Holiday treat! Delicious shortbread cookies, layered with raspberry jam and dusted with confectioner's sugar.


  • 1/2  Cup(s) Sugar, granulated
  • 1
  • 1/2  Pound(s) Butter, room temperature
  • 2
  • 2 1/4  Cup(s) All Purpose Flour, sifted
  • 3
  • ¼  Tea Spoon(s) Salt, kosher
  • 4
  • 1  Each Egg, large
  • 5
  • 1/2  Cup(s) Raspberry Jam or Jelly
  • 6
  •  As Needed Sugar, confectioners
  • 7


    1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
    2. In a standing mixing bowl or a hand held electric mixer, cream sugar and butter
    3. Add egg to mix, incorporate
    4. Add flour to mixture to create a dough
    5. Take dough out of bowl, place on parchment paper, let rest in refrigerator for one hour
    6. Flour a board, roll out dough to 1/4" thickness
    7. Using a round 2" cutter, cut rounds and place on a parchment covered sheet pan
    8. Bake cookies for 7-10 minutes
    9. Remove from oven and place on a wire rack to cool
    10. Once cool, take one cookie and spread a thin layer of raspberry jelly on top, then take another and place on top to create a sandwich
    11. Dust finished cookies with confection sugar
