Description

Onion Pakora is a tasty and crunchy snack that's easy to make. Great starter to your Indian meal.


Ingredients

  • 1  Each Onion, thinly sliced
  • 1
  • 1  Table Spoon(s) Fresh Ginger, minced
  • 2
  • 1  Table Spoon(s) Garlic Paste
  • 3
  •  Pinch Fresh Cilantro, chopped
  • 4
  • ½  Tea Spoon(s) Salt
  • 5
  • ½  Tea Spoon(s) Pepper
  • 6
  • ½  Tea Spoon(s) Turmeric Powder
  • 7
  • ½  Tea Spoon(s) Garam Masala
  • 8
  •  Pinch Cayenne Powder
  • 9
  •  Pinch Cumin Seeds
  • 10
  •  Pinch Mustard Seeds
  • 11
  • 1/2  Cup(s) Gram Flour

  •  As Needed Water

  •  As Needed Oil (for deep frying)

Directions

    1. Heat a pot of oil to 375 degrees
    2. In a bowl, mix together onion slices with garlic paste, ginger, cilantro, salt, pepper, turmeric powder, garam masala, cayenne powder, cumin seeds, mustard seeds and gram flower
    3. Slowly add water to get the right consistency
    4. Make sure the onion slices are well coated, avoid using excess water
    5. Shape about two tablespoons of the mixture into balls and drop into the oil
    6. Keep moving in the oil to ensure all sides cook and you get an even color
    7. Deep fry until golden, avoid burning or allowing it to brown
    8. When cooked, drain the excess oil on a sheet of paper towels and serve hot
