Description

Rice Pilaf is a simple way of cooking rice so it's fluffy and loose. The rice grains stay separate and don't form clumps. A great side dish that goes well with any chicken dish or even on its own.


Ingredients

  • 1/4  Cup(s) Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1
  • 1/4  Cup(s) Butter, melted
  • 2
  • 2  Cup(s) Rice, regular long grain
  • 3
  • 2  Table Spoon(s) Garlic, finely chopped
  • 4
  • 1  Tea Spoon(s) Salt & Pepper Mix (2 parts salt to 1 part pepper)

  • 3/4  Cup(s) Onion, chopped
  • 6
  • ½  Tea Spoon(s) Thyme, dried
  • 7
  • 7  Cup(s) Chicken Stock

Directions

    1. In a pot, boil chicken stock
    2. In a saute pan, melt butter and add olive oil
    3. When oil is hot, add rice and stir
    4. Add garlic, salt & pepper, onion, thyme and mix
    5. Let saute for 6 minutes or until rice turns a light golden-brown color, constantly stir
    6. With a ladle, add boiling chicken stock, stir and cover for 28 minutes
    7. Uncover, serve and enjoy!
