Description

Sesame Chicken with Tahini Sauce can be use as an Hors D' oeuvre or an Appetizer. Great for any party!


Ingredients

  • 2  Pound(s) Chicken Breast, cleaned and butterflied
  • 1
  • 3/4  Cup(s) Tahini Sesame Paste
  • 2
  • 1  Cup(s) Soy Sauce
  • 3
  • 2  Pint (s) Panko Bread Crumbs
  • 4
  • 1  Tea Spoon(s) Lemon Juice or Yuzu
  • 5
  • 1/3  Cup(s) Pickled Ginger, diced
  • 6
  • 3  Each Whole Eggs
  • 7
  • 2  Cup(s) Rice or All Purpose Flour
  • 8
  • 1/2  Quart(s) Canola Oil, for frying
  • 9
  • 1  Tea Spoon(s) Kosher Salt

  • 1/4  Cup(s) White Sesame Seeds
  • 11
  • 1/4  Cup(s) Black Sesame Seeds
  • 12
  • 1/4  Cup(s) Peanut Butter

Directions

    1. Slice chicken into 2 oz. strips (about the size of your finger)
    2. In a bowl, whisk soy sauce, pickled ginger and lemon juice to combine
    3. Pour over chicken and marinate for 30 minutes or up to 12 hours
    4. When you're ready to cook your chicken, dredge chicken in flour seasoned with salt & pepper
    5. In a bowl, whisk the eggs, then coat chicken well in egg mixture
    6. In another bowl, mix bread crumbs with black & white sesame seeds, dredge the chicken in the bread crumb mixture
    7. Place chicken on a tray and place to the side
    8. In a large pot, heat canola oil to 350 degrees with a thermometer
    9. Being careful not to overcrowd the pot, add chicken to oil
    10. Fry until brown, about 3 minutes
    11. Remove chicken from oil and place on a wire rack to drain excess oil
    12. Place on baking tray
    13. Preheat oven to 300 degrees and finish cooking chicken in oven for 2-3 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees
    14. For Tahini Dipping sauce:
    15. In a bowl, mix Tahini pasta with a little bit of warm water until smooth
    16. Add peanut butter to tahini and whisk until smooth
    17. Use a bamboo skewer for a nice presentation
