Description
This German side dish is so simple and goes great with everything. A mix between a boiled dumpling and pasta. Great sautéed with butter and herbs.

Directions
- In a mixing bowl, add flour, salt, parsley, nutmeg, water and eggs
- Ensure all ingredients are mixed well (reserve 1/2 cup of water if needed)
- With a large pot of salted boiling water, use a spaetzel cutter or a box grater to cut or drop the spaetzel into the boiling water
- Stir spaetzel to keep it from sticking
- Once spaetzel floats to the top, cook for another minute and remove spaetzel with slotted spoon or spider
- Before serving, saute spaetzel in brown butter
- Season with salt and pepper and top off with chopped herbs to your liking
