Description

This is the real deal. It's the little things that make it better. Serve with chips, and you should have some extra sauce on the side.


Ingredients

  •  As Needed Butter, unsalted and softened

  • 8  Each Rye Bread Sliced
  • 2
  • 8  Each Swiss Cheese Slices
  • 3
  • 12  Ounce(s) Weight Sauerkraut
  • 4
  • 1 1/2  Pound(s) Corned Beef, high quality thinly sliced
  • 5
  • 1/2  Cup(s) Mayonnaise
  • 6
  • 1/2  Cup(s) Boiled Egg, Diced
  • 7
  • 1/4  Cup(s) Ketchup
  • 8
  • 1/4  Cup(s) Pickled Relish
  • 9
  • 1/2  Cup(s) Sour Cream
  • 10
  • 1  Tea Spoon(s) Parsley, chopped

Directions

    1. In a bowl, mix mayo, egg, ketchup, relish, sour cream, olive oil and parsley, let sit for 10 minutes
    2. On one side of each slice of rye bread, spread butter
    3. Heat a nonstick pan over medium heat, brown the bread lightly butter side down in the pan, remove bread and place on a cutting board
    4. On each piece of bread, place 1-1/2 slices of Swiss
    5. Divide the sauerkraut and corned beef evenly among the 4 slices of bread, spread a thin layer of the dressing on the other slices of bread, stack to form the sandwich
    6. Place sandwiches in a 300 degree oven to warm through and melt the cheese, about 7 minutes
